I have just started reading a book about the playing and coaching life of Larry Bird in "On playing and coaching the game I love". Larry Bird is one of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game. For many of the younger generation they do not know that much about Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and the many others that laid the groundwork for what basketball is today. Today much emphasis is placed on individual talent and not as much on what a player can bring to a Team.

This past season with the Kings I had the opporutunity to be an Asst. Coach on one of the greatest "Team" oriented Teams I believe the BJ League has ever seen. Even though Jeff Newton was the League MVP Jeff was probably the best "Team" player I have ever met in my life. It was never about Jeff getting his numbers it was always about the Team win.

There are many books out that I would suggest anyone who may be interested in learning more about basketball and life should read. As students of the game we all can learn so much about the great people who we owe so much to for making basketball the game it is today.

Thanks to Eric Hamilton for letting me borrow this book to read and study about the Legend Larry Bird. Eric is one of the great fans of Hoosier Basketball and a supporter of Kings Basketball. Thanks Eric!
