Fukuoka Games

Another great weekend of Kings Basketball ended with us being able to complete a season sweep of the Rizing Fukuoka (8-0). Saturday's game was an exciting high paced game. Fukuoka is known for their full court press and we knew they would bring this from the get go. We started the game a little sluggish turning the ball over 12 times in the first half and did not do a good job of taking care of the ball. We settled down a bit in the second period and were able to take a 19 point lead into the locker room at the half. Fukuoka made a run in the third but we were able to counter that with runs of our own.

Led by Chris game-best 27 points, we were able to closeout for a 94-69 victory.
We had a very productive night on the boards with Chris hauling in 15 rebounds. Mac and Jeff added 11 apiece and Naoto came within one rebound of a double-digit outing in that department. Mac added 20 points, Yosuke poured in 18 and Jeff had 17.

Sunday was a little different type game as Fukuoka did not press as much and played mostly zone against us. It was a see-saw battle that saw us close to a tie on Jeff's runner at the buzzer to tie the score at the half at 38.
The 3rd and 4th periods were much of the same as we were able to keep the score close each time Fukuoka threatened to make a run.
A great defensive effort in the 4th gave us the 19 to 14 advantage in that period which ended up being the difference in the game. Only the strong and the smart survive!

Jeff had 24 points and 14 rebounds and Mac had 17 points and nine boards) and Yosuke had 10 points ( Two 3's and Four free-throws down the stretch) which helped us improve to 35-11 in the 72-68 road triumph over Fukuoka.

Thanks for your continued support of Kings Basketball!

No matter where we go there is always great fan support.
