Play every second!
Posted on March 30, 2009 7:10 AMAll I can say is WOW! What a weekend. As we did not end the weekend as we had hoped but we did play hard until the last second and we did not give up when we were down 12 points with 7:14 and we were down 65 - 55 with 4:44 to play. We were able to pull even with 58 seconds to play and stayed at that point until 23.2 seconds to play. Ryan Blackwell was fouled with 5.7 seconds to go and made 1 of 2 freethrows. We got the rebound with 5 seonds and called a timeout. We setup a designed play for Jeff and he got off a great shot to go ahead with 0.6 seonds to go. Osaka called a timeout and set up a play for a tip in. There were a lot of screens and players got knocked down and a Osaka player got loose for a tip in with 0.2 seconds to play.
This situation is one we as a team will learn from and will ensure this type of outcome does not happen again. This proves that every second counts in every game and you have to play until all time has expired on and the buzzer has sounded.
Thanks to all of the great fan support both days even when we were down the you guys kept our spirits high and that is one reason we were able to over come the deficit in such a short time when it counted.
I have a new saying that applies to us for the remainder of the season.
One game at a time and every second counts!
Thanks
Coach
Go Kings!
