Osaka Away games

The Kings played an exciting game on Saturday vs. the Osaka Evessa Basketball Team.
It was a see-saw game that saw many lead changes as we took a 49-46 half-time lead.
The game was very physical and we carried a 71-69 lead goiing into the 4th period. Osaka came out with charge and surged ahead 79-80 at the 4:52 mark of the period. There was a 87-87 tie with 23.4 to go and Osaka made the go ahead basket and we came down and got basket to tie at 89 with under 10 seconds to go in the game. After a missed shot by Osaka the Kings took the rebound and called a timeout with 3.5 to go in regulation. Coach Dai drew up a play that set several screens for our players to get open and the in bounds pass went to Jeff Newton who knocked down a floater as tiem expired and we escaped with a 91-89 victory.

Sunday's game was even more physical as we saw 22 fouls called against us and our two bigmen Jeff and Chris both fouled out late in the game. The game was tight in the first half as we went into the break with a 37 tie. We came out flat in the 3rd period and did not play good team basketball and were outscored 26-14 in the peiod. We could not get our offense clicking and we took many forced shots and as a team I believe we got frustrated. The final tally was 63-81, in a losing effort.

I have to apologize to the fans who support us because I believe as a team we let you down by not giving our best effort on Sunday. I promise we will strive to be a better team and will always give 100% in every game.

Thanks for your continued support,

Coach Keith
